Léo Ferré
né le 24 août 1916 à Monaco et mort le 14 juillet 1993 (à 76 ans) à Castellina in Chianti (Italie), est un chanteur et un auteur-compositeur franco-monégasque. Sur le plan politique, Léo Ferré se présentait comme un anarchiste.
Dans les années 1940, Léo Ferré écrit et compose des chansons qui sont interprétées par d'autres artistes. Tout en continuant à composer pour d'autres chanteurs (Edith Piaf, Yves Montand, Juliette Gréco entre autres), il chante dans des cabarets dans les années 1950 et il enregistre des albums. Il obtient son premier grand succès en 1958 avec Le Temps du tango parmi ses chansons les plus connues, on peut citer : Le Piano du pauvre, Paname, Jolie môme, C'est extra et d'autres encore. Il chante ses propres compositions (parfois écrites avec d'autres auteurs) et il met en musique et interprète les textes de poètes comme notamment Rutebeuf (Pauvre Rutebeuf), Guillaume Apollinaire (Le Pont Mirabeau), Charles Baudelaire, Arthur Rimbaud et Louis Aragon. Au total, 58 albums (dont treize en live) ont été publiés.
