Bernar Venet
est un artiste plasticien français, né le 20 avril 1941 à Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban dans les Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Il a vécu près de 40 ans aux États-Unis où il s’est fait connaître pour ses sculptures en acier et ses œuvres conceptuelles. Il réside actuellement dans le sud de la France où il a créé la Venet Foundation.
Venet est connu pour ses sculptures en métal et ses expérimentations avec des matières comme le charbon, l’asphalte et le goudron. Il a travaillé les modes minimalistes et conceptuels pendant les années 1960 et 1970. Il a été fait Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur en 2005, et a créé la Fondation Venet en 2014, qui sert de musée et d’archives pour son œuvre.

Venet is known for his metal carvings and experiments with materials such as coal, asphalt and tar. He worked on minimalist and conceptual fashions during the 1960s and 1970s. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2005, and created the Venet Foundation in 2014, which serves as a museum and archive for his work.
