Stéphane Grappelli
était un violoniste, pianiste et jazzman italo-français. Il est né le 26 janvier 1908 à Paris et est décédé le 1er décembre 1997 dans la même ville. Il fait partie des plus grands violonistes de jazz du XXe siècle et a créé le « Quintette du Hot Club de France » avec Django Reinhardt. Le Quintette était l’un des premiers groupes de jazz entièrement composé de cordes. Grappelli a été appelé « le grand-père des violonistes de jazz » et a continué à jouer des concerts dans le monde entier jusqu’à un âge avancé.

Stéphane Grappelli
was an Italian-French violinist, pianist and jazzman. He was born on 26 January 1908 in Paris and died on 1 December 1997 in the same city. He is one of the greatest jazz violinists of the 20th century and created the «Quintette du Hot Club de France» with Django Reinhardt. Le Quintette was one of the first jazz groups to be entirely composed of strings. Grappelli was called the «grandfather of jazz violinists» and continued to play concerts all over the world until old age.
